Finally!!!

It's finally going to print. Grammar, spelling, and structure have been looked at and I hope it now reads smoother. A few details have been fixed and now all of it is being bound into pages that will hopefully be enjoyed. I am currently working on the second installment and having this one finished (as finished as it's going to get lol) I can write without worrying about the first book. I have so many ideas of how I want the series to go. I just hope the readers agree with where I want it to go ;) I love the characters and want them to have happy endings. Getting there might be messy, gut retching and sad but somehow they all make their way to the end.

Here is what the printed cover will look :) Keep your eyes out for giveaways in the coming weeks. We will have signed copies, bookmarks, and other fun swag.

I receive the proof Tuesday!! And if everything looks good it will be available for purchase!

Have a fun and safe Halloween

Trent

Trent
A man of many secrets, Trent was sent to protect Samantha and would do anything to see to her safety and well being. He's built like a truck and looks like an Irish warrior. His eyes no matter what color can make you forget the meaning of time. He could make a woman's heart skip a beat and a man's ego go down the drain. He's your ultimate hero but has flaws that make you want him even more. Take a look at "The Guardian's Kiss" to see if he gets the girl, saves the day, and reveals his secrets. " I reached my hand out to touch the soft down of his wings. He shuttered under my touch with a sense of pure satisfaction. He steadily unfolded his wings, the left one caressed my skin and sent a wave of serenity over me. I laid back against the bed to take in the full affect of his wing's presence. He stretched his wings out to their full span and a lacy veil spread over my body. He furled them back into place and they slowly shimmered back into oblivion. All that was left behind was his intricate translucent tattoo. "~ Sam about Trent

Samantha the Heroine

I'd like to start sharing a little bit about my characters with you and I figured what better way than to start with my main girl Sam. What can I say she's smart as a whip and as gorgeous as any down to earth girl could be. She's been told she smells like honeysuckle and has eyes, that are warm and rich like blue velvet. Her long brown hair is the color of caramel and will catch any man's attention. She has a birthmark that becomes a little inconvenient out in public but packs one hell-of-a wallop, which comes in handy when fighting Eaters, Fallen, and stupid men. She always wanted to become a doctor and was headed there until her younger sister had become infected with a virus, after that her world went a tilt. She meets a handsome soldier, Trent, who turns out to be more than just her knight in shining armer. She also has to put up with a Skin Walker who might just be as important to her as Trent. Her twin sister Barbra is all she has left in this world and would lose part of herself if anything happened to her. She may except help from others but she ultimately takes care of herself. Her powers might just be what is needed to save the human race. Read "The Guardian's Kiss" to see where Samantha's destiny takes her.
If you hang around GoodReads would love to meet you over there :) Stay tuned... Jamie D.

Editing/ Proofreading UGHHH!!!

*Thud* Thud*Thud* Yes that is me hitting my head against the wall. It is so hard and so expensive. (Yes, yes I know they need to get paid too.) To find a decent editor. I don't have the funds to pay top dollar to have my book edited. I am also afraid to hand over a piece of work I spent close to a year on to a total stranger. I know some authors send their work to beta readers and such, but I have no clue where and how I would find something like that. I honestly want to make a professional attempt at this. I have had good reviews based on my storyline and characters, but I know my editing is sloppy. I also know I am not the only one who has this problem. If only there were places (there might very well be) that authors help one another in this department and others as well. Like cover design, book trailers, book blurbs and previews. I know this can cost a pretty penny as well. Helping with marketing and advertisement is a great avenue where Authors can support one another in, Especially us Indy Authors.. I have knowledge in some departments that can help others and vise versa.

Okay. I believe I am done venting now lol. Here is a little sneak of my next book "Hearts of Sand." Hoping to have it released by the beginning of 2012. Enjoy.

A convo between Trinity and Arsen

The content below is covered under the copyright of Jamie Lynn Dougherty © ....Please feel free to enjoy the Quote, but please do not share on any other website or use as your own work. Thank You

“Can we bring Gregory with us?” Arsen asked with a sheepish grin.

“Absolutely not! Do you not remember what he did the last time we brought him along?”

Vlad was now staring between us, as if he were trying to catch up on a very exciting tennis match.

“But T, he won’t be a problem, I promise. He will be on his best behavior. Plus, what he did wasn’t that bad.”

“That bad? Are you serious! He peed in my purse Arsen! He is not coming!” When I said that, Gregory hopped from his dog bed next to Arsen’s seat, and barked a curse at me before jaunting out of the room. Vlad began to laugh hysterically, I thought he might of actually lost his mind.

“What is with you?” I asked.

“I thought. I thought you were talking about a man.” He continued to laugh, grabbing his chest as if he was going to rip in two. You would think a prince would have a little more self control. “I thought one of his boy toys was Gregory and he had actually urinated in your purse.”

I was so glad he was having such a good time at my expense. I didn’t find it that entertaining, when I found dog pee in my brand new Fendi bag. The mutt was lucky I didn’t make him into a pair of shoes or a dust mop.

Vlad had finally brought himself under control. Tears were streaming down his face. Arsen just sat in his chair pouting like a three year old. Man what was his deal today? He was really being moody. I knew I was going to regret saying this. “Fine. You can bring the stupid dog. But! If he comes anywhere near my shoes, bag, or anything else. I will throw him out the window of a speeding vehicle.” That brought a smile to Arsen’s god like face. I was such a pushover for those damn pretty boy vamps.

Music Choices

I wanted to explain a little about my playlist. I listen to a lot of music. And when I watch movies, I love it when a certain song will enhance emotions. As I wrote The Guardian's Kiss I found songs that reminded me of scenes or Characters in the book. Whether a harsh metal song or a gentle piano. Music can turn your simple imagination into a full blow, vividly colored experience.

Here are few of the songs that inspired me. And where they all fit in.

Audio Secrecy, Stone Sour This song just gave me the feel of the over all book. A soft but powerful piano done by a
rock band no less

E.T., Katy Perry As soon as I heard this I knew it was How Sam sees Trent. Love It!!

Duality, Slipknot Only one Man, or should I say Being could pull this song off and who else better Than
Dricus himself. But I have a feeling his theme song may change in the future.

Walk, Foo Fighters This is about Sam's resolve about what she is really meant to become.
Letters From the Sky, Civil Twiligh This song reminds me of a chapter where you learn a little bit more about Dricus. His
past, why he is what he is and where his future may be.

Snuff , Slipknot Poor H.B.

Monster, Paramore This one you will have to read the book to find out. Once you do, you will understand ;)
I've tried to find just the right song For Trent but he is one who is going to hard to pin down.

Have a wonderful week. Oh before I forget. My Kindle edition is currently available for 99¢!! So don't miss out. Also The book is in the midst of being edited WOOHOO!!! So I hope to have a revised copy of my ebook and also a book in Print by the end of September.

Giveaway!!!

I wanted to share a Giveaway that I am having to promote my new book. It is currently in EReader format but I am working to have the edited version in paperback by the end of Sept. I Would really appreciate any support. If you could, share my book video on FB and/or Twitter or follow me Here. You will be entered to win a $50.00 GC to Barnes & Noble or Amazon.com (Winners Choice) Just comment here if you do either.

I am taking the independent approach to getting my work out to the public. I want to keep my art my own and I have heard that when you attempt the Larger publishing route sometimes your writing may not stay your own. Too many people with their own opinions want to change what you have created. We will see how this route turns out for me.

So I am honest when i say that I appreciate any and all support.
